I LOVE the colors in this piece. The greens and blues remind me of the ocean. And the yellows and orange feel summery, like sunshine. However, my favorite aspect of this painting is the textures — especially the patch of dark blue in the lower left hand corner. The pattern of light and shadow — and bubbles —reminds me of scuba diving in the ocean. It’s exactly what the water looks like just underneath the surface. It’s the membrane between two worlds, and the light filters through the water in a magical way.
