This painting was inspired by an arrangement of Icelandic poppies by poet-florist Jen Cavender of Nectar and Bloom. What a great gig: poet-florist! She taught writing at a university before leaving academia to work with flowers. These days, she tells stories with flowers instead of words! Case in point, I was drawn to the movement and lyricism of this floral arrangement.
